ethics. Thousands of campers with public/private schools, churches,
youth groups, YMCA's, Boy and Girl Scout Troops, and families enroll in
our camp each year.
Assistant Camp Director / OED Director
Job
Description: The Assistant Director/Outdoor Education Director (this is
one position) will create, implement, facilitate and evaluate and
instruct our Outdoor Science and Adventure Programs. The OED will also
schedule outdoor ed. programs and staff, supervise outdoor ed. staff,
market the program, and perform general camp duties when necessary.
Work weeks in excess of 40 hrs. are common. Evening and weekend hours
are required. As the OED season slows, the summer camping season
begins. Work will shift to general camp duties including: hosting,
maintenance, life-guarding, office duties, cooking, and development of
the OED program. December-February will allow for generous time off and
rest, or your own adventure.
Qualifications: A minimum of 2 years experience in the field. The ability to "hit the ground running." With minimal training you should be able to safely and effectively facilitate our high & low ropes challenge courses, team building activities and our many Outdoor Science/Experiential classes including: Wilderness Survival, Plant Study, Geology, Pond and Insect Study, Pioneer Skills, Native American Skills, Orienteering, Rappelling, Animal Study, Astronomy and more. We require the new Assistant Director/Outdoor Education Director to lead and to host with integrity, honesty, understanding, humor and spirit. Big Rock Creek Camp is an alcohol/tobacco/illegal drugs free zone…that doesn’t mean they’re free, it means they’re prohibited, including in residential areas. Registrar/ Book KeeperJob Description: The duties of the registrar are as follows: The scheduling and registration of guests, The scheduling of meals programs and facilities without conflict, Payroll, Accounts receivable/payable, Book keeping, Quarterly reports.Qualifications: Some experience as a secretary, office manager, or accountant. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. The registrar is our primary contact with our clients. We require the registrar to be good with people, and to have a lot of patients and a calm demeanor. Wage: Hourly rate commensurate with experience Hours: Full time from March through September part time in the winter months.
